So far this month June has received 102.4 millimeters of rainfall, just 15.4 millimeters off of the wettest June set on record in 2013 at 117.8 millimeters.
Dams around the region have also fared well with Wyangala Dam currently sitting at 47 per cent with 569,116 megalitres of water.
The weather isn’t set to improve until Monday with forecasts for today and the weekend calling for a possible storm, snow falling above 700 meters and frosty mornings.
The Bureau of Meteorology released a flood warning Thursday morning for Canowindra stating the river levels were being monitored.
“Further rainfall is forecast for Thursday and Friday, which may result in renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and revised predictions will be issued if necessary.” the warning said.
