Cowra coach Mark Dixon admitted his side’s lackluster start to games has been their downfall, despite losing just one game, and he’s hoping to quickly stamp it out.
This weekend the Blues tackle defending premiers Orange Tigers at Bloomfield Oval, and Dixon expects an improved showing.
“Our starting has been an issue for us, we haven’t started well all year. We were slow out of the blocks last week,” Dixon said.
“It’s going to be a tough game [at Orange], they’ve won the last three premierships. I think it’ll be a good challenge.
“We have a tough month ahead so it’s a pretty important game.
“A loss isn’t the worst thing it brings us back down to earth and now we focus on what’s important.
“A win would would get us back on track and last weekend will just be a blip on the radar. Another loss, though, and we’re suddenly in a slump,” he said.
Cowra and Orange do battle from 2.30pm on Saturday.
