The figures show a stable trend in the 17 major offence categories recorded by BOCSAR over the past 24 months to December 2015.
BOCSAR's Local Government Area reporting tool which ranks the 139 LGA's with populations over 3000 people ranked Cowra 6th in non-domestic violence related assault, 7th in malicious damage to property, 14th in steal from dwelling and 16th in break and enter dwelling.
Canobolas Local Area Command Detective Inspector Bruce Grassick said the Command had noticed the trend.
"The figures are indicative of the work done by the Command, when you have a close look at the numbers there is a slight downward trend.
Detective Inspector Grassick said that educating the public was key to helping reduce property related crime.
"We recognise the trend in property crime and as a result police in Cowra have been conducting operations targeting those crimes."
"One such operation was the property crime prevention day held recently which saw Cowra police talking to shop owners and the public and educating them on prevention strategies," he said.
He also reminded the Cowra community to continue to report crimes and repeated the message for residents to lock their homes and vehicles.
"We need the community to lock their homes and vehicles, ensure their firearms are properly secured and locked, refrain from leaving their keys in their vehicles and to secure their vehicles appropriately and to report crimes and suspicious activities to the police so we can have a proactive approach to them," he said.
