It's been seven years since Cowra achieved a win in Dubbo, when a Matt Crawley led side thumped the Western Zone heavyweights by nine wickets in the second round of the 2008-2009 SCG Cup.
Just two players from the 2008-2009 side - Mick Curtale and Peter Guthrie - still feature in the representative side's 11.
Momentum is flowing, though, after WZPL wins against Orange and Parkes assured Cowra's spot in the finals while Dubbo are coming off a loss against Orange last weekend.
Cowra captain Conor Crook says that's no indicator that Dubbo may be vulnerable.
"I didn't see their side which played Orange but I expect they'll be full-strength for a semi final especially up there. We'll have to be at our best," Crook said.
"I think we need to post 250 to 300 runs and I think we need to take 10 wickets. Not a lot of winning sides run out of balls in chase of runs in Dubbo.
"It's probably the biggest toss of the season we need to go out there and score runs."
While Cowra's top order need to rise to the occasion Crook didn't play down the importance of his bowlers.
The Cowra attack has been hugely impressive all season and will face their toughest test this Sunday.
Crook identified the Traves brothers - Brendan and Nick - as key figures in his thin bowling department.
Brendan's new ball spell was brilliant in Parkes where he caused havoc on a reasonably flat pitch while Nick has been impressive since his call-up to the representative side.
"They'll be the top two, they'll take the new ball. We have Mick [Curtale] who bowls a bit of spin but the rest are batting all-rounders who can roll the arm over.
"We need the Travesy's to do a job early on if we don't take early polls it could get tough."
A Cowra win would book their ticket in the WZPL final against Bathurst next Sunday.
The semi final begins at 10am at in Dubbo on Sunday.
