In the inaugural year of central west female competition, little was known about how the new concept would go.
To date it has been a smashing success, crowd numbers have increased this year, and new people are being introduced to AFL footy, which brings volunteers and even the odd boyfriend or husband who wants to give AFL a go.
For the Cowra side it was a year of learning the game, learning the rules and having fun.
Cowra has quite a young side compared to the rest of the league with the average age being only 16 years of age.
Although young and undersized in all of their games, the Blues have done well and held their own.
If they can keep the same bunch of girls together for a couple more years they will be unstoppable.
This Sunday the girls take on the Orange Tigers in an elimination final at Mulyan Oval.
Both sides met twice this year with the result at one win a piece.
The Blues will take some confidence out of a close two point loss to the second place Dubbo Demons last weekend on the road.
The Blues stormed home in after being down by a fair margin but couldn't score the win.
The siren went when the Blues were on the attack in front of their goals.
Coach Dave Bryant is confident that the Blues can advance to next week's grand final qualifier versus the loser of the Bathurst Bushrangers and the Dubbo Demons.
A final training run was held last nigh to put the finishing touches on their preparation for their biggest task to date.
Whatever happens in this year's final series will only set the platform for next year with the new look one tier CWAFL men's competition coming into effect.
It may be the case that there could be up to six ladies' teams featuring in the 2016 CWAFL competition including Parkes, Young, Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo and Cowra.
Keep an eye out late this year to see how it all unfolds and keep an eye out for the Blues female side's new jumper design which will be unveiled early next year.
This Sunday's female game kicks off at 1.30pm sharp at Mulyan Oval.
Being a final, the club has a gate to cover fees for the day.
Entry is $5 for adults and children, under 18s get in free.
