That only left the newly formed Bathurst Giants and Cowra to fight out the competition.
With only five games played between the two sides the Giants dominated the first four games winning quite comfortably.
The final game of the regular season saw the Blues record their first win by only a couple of points.
With no semi-final system in play both teams played each other at Bathurst in the grand final for the inaugural Broes-Reid Cup.
The Broes-Reid Cup was thought up by the Giants to recognise the continued efforts of Shane Broes from the Giants and Kim Reid from Cowra.
It is hopeful that the 2016 CWAFL season will see an improved number of teams in the under 16s.
In this year's grand final the Blues were off to a good start, kicking some early goals through gun forward Mark Williams.
This was possible thanks to some great ruck work from Jai Doolan, who completely dominated the ruck.
The Giants kicked back in the second quarter and regained the lead and did not relinquish the lead again.
The Blues had their chances to grab a win in the final stages but some poor discipline and some inaccuracy in front of goal saw them go down by less than a goal in the biggest game of the year.
Tyrone Mckeown was a standout in the forwards for the Blues, along with Jesse Murray.
Sam Hampton played well with Dean Kakaroski in defence.
It was a heartbreaking loss for the lads, with most of this team heading to the under 18s competition in 2016 which is to be played on Saturdays.
The Cowra Blues would like to thank the Bathurst Giants for hosting the grand final, for supplying the winning medallions and for providing the inaugural Broes-Reid Cup.
The Blues look forward to many more close games in the next few years.
Presentation day for Auskickers, under 12s, under 14s and under 16s will be held on Father's day at 11am at the BBQ area of River Park.
The Club hopes to see all players, parents and supporters of the Blues' young guns in attendance.
