It's one of the most important jobs out there and Cowra's long-standing nurses were acknowledged for their years of service this week.

Rewarding those nurses who have notched up more than 30 years of service with NSW Health, the awards were presented by Health Council's Don Reid and mayor Bill West.
Mr Reid addressed the gathering and thanked the nurses present for their years of commitment.
"Often you do this work because you love it and you don't get the recognition you deserve," he said.
"Your dedication over this long term is certainly appreciated by the wider Cowra community."
The celebrations were organised by acting community manager Desley Johnson and health service manager's assistant, Val Cruikshank.
While some were unable to attend, 11 nurses were presented with certificates for long service. An extra special token of thanks went to Laura Clark for an impressive 43 years with NSW Health. Laura currently works in the emergency department and was acknowledged by nurse manager, Wendy Hyde for her dedication and commitment to the role.
Cowra Hospital's social worker Danielle Allan commended the nurses on the their long-lasting professionalism.
"While everything in the heath world changes, our constant is our people and I think it's really important to acknowledge this," she said.
"We look to you for your valued skills and where we're going next- we commend you for your values and commitment.
"From all the Cowra health staff and beyond, we thankyou and congratulations."
