Along with friendship and social activities, a major part of the Cowra CWA Evening Group's activities is the involvement of its members in a range of fundraising projects that continue over the year and many thanks to the members for their participation.

Monies raised are donated to various charities as determined by the Branch each year and, in 2014, the following donations were made: Ronald Macdonald House; the Black Dog Institute; Operation Christmas Child; The Magazine for the Deaf for ongoing education; the Cowra Show Society for Cooking prizes; local students for education expenses; and five local schools for Speech Day prize giving.
The latest fund raising efforts have been providing morning tea for Cowra Shire Council and a Japanese delegation to Cowra; catering at the Cowra Wine Show for the Judges' and Officials' luncheon and selling tickets at the Cowra Wine Show Public Tasting; three most enjoyable afternoons of Marmalade Jam and Scone Making workshops kindly conducted by Rowena Casey; and catering for breakfast for the Natural Resource Management Committee meeting at Cowra Shire Council Chambers.
These events are in addition to the recent sewing day to make a quilt to be raffled for Lyme Disease, the proceeds of which will be donated to the State's Lyme Disease medical research project.
As well, a lot of the members are presently knitting and crocheting squares to be made up into rugs to be donated to the Cowra hospital.
If there are any knitters who would like the opportunity to obtain some lovely wool (mohair and other yarns) and crochet cotton for a small donation to the Cowra CWA Evening Branch, Judy Houghton has a lot on display at her home, 9 London Circuit, Cowra. (Phone 63423205)
The CWA Evening Branch members wish to thank the organisations who invite them to be involved in the various activities to assist with their fundraising.
