More thank yous today – especially to those who stop me in the street, or the supermarket, or at junior football to thank me for my column and sharing my sometimes very dry observations and opinions.

(Yes, last week’s title had a hint of mischievous wryness. I was a tad exasperated).
It is really hard to write and share your opinions when for many years, opinion was the complete opposite of what a journalist sought to write.
What I would like to offer this week is more support for those who are behind the project #itshappeningincowra.
We are proud to say we were the first business in Cowra to use the hashtag in a variety of social media outlets and announce it to the world.
Just the sheer fact you are all asking me ‘what’s happening in Cowra?” means you are all talking about the campaign and Cowra!
The #itshappeningincowra campaign is the project of those who weren’t prepared to sit back and wait.
While still in its infancy and finding its feet, the most refreshing thing about #itshappeningincowra is that it’s from people who are prepared to have a go.
They are prepared to learn something new, they are prepared to hustle about our town and community and refreshingly, they are prepared to pitch in themselves.
The #itshappeningincowra campaign to me isn’t just about social media and marketing your business.
It’s also about saying proudly and loudly, ‘I’m in Cowra and I want to share with the whole world why!’
The Cowra Guardian is proud to be involved in this campaign. Join the crew, and hash tag #itshappeningincowra and spread the message about supporting local.
