Former Cowra local, Sam Watmore has returned to his hometown from Mooloolaba, QLD and is set to showcase his skills at the community event.
A lifelong passion for the 27-year-old who received his first skateboard at three, Sam was a driving force in getting the Cowra skate park off the ground almost 10 years ago. Today, along with business partner Luke Bailey, Sam owns Sylvan Skateboards and between the two of them have more than 40 years experience in the skateboarding scene.
With plenty of tricks and demos up his sleeve, Sam is also hoping to run a competition on the day with the winner taking home the top prize- a Sylvan skateboard.
Kicking off at 10am until approximately 1pm tomorrow, Saturday, July 4, the community event is supported by Cowra Council and will raise funds for Cowra Family Day Care.
The event is open to all ages and everyone is encouraged to come along, bring a skateboard or scooter or just enjoy the show. Cowra Family Day Care will be firing up the barbecue, with a sausage sizzle and a drink stall available.
