Taking off in public libraries across Australia, the 'Makerspace' concept has seen DIY spaces set up where people can gather to create, invent, and learn.
On Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7 from 10.30am to 12.30pm a space and materials will be provided for anyone, young or old, to come up with their own craft idea.
"You can create whatever you would like with the resources that we provide," library volunteer Christine Vandor said.
"We want to demonstrate the community that the library is about more than just books- you can create information as well as consume it."
Open to ages seven and above, the Makerspace session are $2 each to cover the cost of materials and bookings can be made by calling the library on 6340 2180.
Running all school holidays, the library also has a 'lucky dip' in place, encouraging young readers to explore new books.
"The authors names are written on the little scrolls so whoever they pick, they're encourage to go find a book by that author," volunteer Mary Anne Smith said.
"It introduces them to authors they might not know about."
The scrolls are colour coded, with pink suggesting those more enjoyed by young girls, blue for boys and yellow designed to be enjoyed by everyone.
Cowra Library has also welcomed the addition of a Smart TV, enabling them to screen community event information, online storytime and screen news channels and up to date information. Anyone wanting to submit a community announcement to be screen on the TV can deliver it to the library via a flashdrive or email cwl.cowra@bigpond.com
