The primary objective of Riding for the Disabled is to provide a valuable service to children with a disability who get to experience the thrill of bonding with, and riding, a horse which in turn provides a form of exercise which improves co-ordination, balance, muscular development and fitness.
The children also develop greater confidence and self-esteem.
Representatives from Cowra RDA were on hand to help man the barbeque and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of shooters who turned up from far and wide to support the event.
There were even two from Western Australia who had a great day and commented on the lovely facilities and friendliness of the Cowra Gun Club.
Last year Cowra Gun Club held a charity shoot in aid of Parkinson's NSW and it was so well supported that it was decided to organise an event this year and the local RDA was chosen as the beneficiary.
This is part of the Club's ongoing commitment to the local community as well as providing a unique sporting experience.
