Merriganowry locals and those from further afield keen to try some of the famous Merriganowry baking flocked to the RFS shed on Thursday, March 26, helping raise money for both the Cowra Chemotherapy Unit and renovations to the RFS shed.
For just a gold coin donation, the Merriganowry Progress Association (MPA) event saw everything from scones and lamingtons to sausage rolls and nutella filled meringues top the beautifully decorated tables.
"The Merriganowry ladies have all worked so hard to put it together and it's wonderful to see so many people here; it's a whole community event," Merriganowry MPA secretary Melissa Grant said.
"It's very popular every year and now everyone had their 'thing'- if you're known for your lamingtons or your pavlova or your meringues you have to keep bringing them!"
Ms Grant said the committee is committed to fundraising to enable floor extensions to be carried out.
Margaret Shelley picked up the lucky door prize generously donated by the Cowra Japanese Garden.
