Plenty of locals were willing to roll up their sleeves when the Australian Red Cross Blood Service mobile donor centre dropped by Cowra last week.

An extra day was been added to the van's trip to Cowra because of the demand to donate from the community, Rosalie Coelho from the Blood Service said.
"We've always had a great response from the public here in Cowra," Ms Coelho said.
"With the extra day, we now hope to collect 200 donations every time we come to Cowra."
Hannah Russell, 17, donated blood on Wednesday with her father, Michael.
Michael's been a regular blood donor since the 80s and it's a legacy he's passed onto his daughter.
"It's something I can do for the community," Michael said.
"It's for a good cause," Hannah added.
"It's my third time donating. The first time was the worst because they had to hold the needle in."
Every whole blood donation - comprising of red blood cells, platelets and plasma - can help three people.
You can donate whole blood every 12 weeks.
The donation van will return to Cowra from June 22 to June 25.
If you didn't make it to the van this time around, you can always book in at the blood donation centre in Orange.
There you can donate plasma too, where there's only a two week wait between when you can donate.
