It has come to my attention that a letter from Cr Bill West, Mayor of Cowra has been read by the Mayor of Young, Cr John Walker, who has agreed that the delay in the decision on the tend process on the re-opening of the rail line known as the Cowra Rail, lines is unacceptable.

I served as Mayor of Weddin Shire for a period of 14 years and also for many years as Chair of the Lachlan Regional Transport Committee Inc and totally agree with the strong sentiments of both the above mentioned mayors.
I have taken many emails and phone calls for concerned citizens from over the region managed by the five council involved in the rail study.
All the callers are asking for action and I implore the candidates in the coming State Election to speak out on this very serious matter which is holding up development in the region.
In times past under different governments we of the rail group have been frustrated by inaction on this matter which with the completion of the missing Maldon/Dombarton link will speed freight into a revamped Port Kembla producing a great result for all of NSW.

Looks like the Nationals aren't going to re-open our railway.
Either they are putting up a SmokeScreen or don't know any detail of the FREE offer to re-open the rail.
Troy Grant (National's Leader) ABC radio Thurs am on re-opening Blayney to Demondrille rail said:-
"...if re-elected Duncan Gay has set aside ..major investments into our rail.."
SmokeScreen- No Govt money will ever used.
"...dependent on other money being available.."
SmokeScreen- Tenderers pay for everything.
"...our intention is to broadly re-invest in rail.."
SmokeScreen- Govt not investing in Cowra Lines.
So opportunities go up in Smoke:- Employment growth through the centre of NSW, -help to farmers, -business growth, -safer roads.
