A departure of note from the Committee was Steve Howard, whose involvement over 21 years has been much appreciated, as will his continued presence, knowledge and walking guidebook "Bushwalking Around Cowra & Central West".
At our next monthly meeting, Tuesday 3rd March at the Services Club Meeting Room at 7.30pm, the Autumn program will be planned. Come along to be involved in what will be offered for the next few months.
Most outings are not very difficult and include local area day walks, short town walks and some overnight away walks. Cycling activities can also be close to home with short rides or a variety of rides in other areas.
Participants should always discuss the level of difficulty of a walk or ride with the leader before starting, so that you can decide whether the activity is for you.
This is particularly good for new members, so you can feel confident with your first activity.
Walks before the heat set in last year included in the Blue Mountains, Dubbo Stampede and, closer to home, Scrubby Rush (Woodstock), Rocky Bridge (Neville), Canobolas and Koorawatha Falls.
We need the input and experience of walk leaders, as well as the attendance of many walkers for the social enjoyment.
The many new members we are attracting requires an interesting and varied activity program. Remember, most of the club outings end with coffee or other liquid refreshment somewhere.
We are a very social group who walk, ride and talk!
Keep an eye on the Guardian soon for details of upcoming walks or call Yvonne Bell on 63 422195.
You are welcome along as a guest on a few occasions before joining ($20 annually). We've just turned 21 !
You need special shoes for hiking... and some special souls as well.
Hoping to see many new (and also many "recycled") faces on Tuesday 3rd March, or on any of our walks or rides.
