It seems like only yesterday when the Group 10 grand final was being staged at Cowra's Sid Kallas Oval between the Cowra Magpies and Bathurst St Pats, and just over three months later preparation has begun for the highly anticipated 2015 season.

A stellar year in the Group 10 competition has left the club with plenty of motivation to repeat those efforts and a strong pre-season is exactly what the club needs.
With still plenty of holes to fill in the squad premier league coach Steve Sutton was giving no hints as to who would be filling them, but is confident with how negotiations are progressing.
"We do need to get replacements for the players we have lost," he said.
"We are looking at a couple of different guys and we have progressed with our negotiations, if we do get them they will adequately replace Tim Holman and Jeremy Gordon."
As well as recruiting talent to the club Sutton said it's good opportunity for local players to return such as Dan McGann, who was injured all last season, and possibly Lachie Boyd, the brother of Canberra prop Shannon, to return to the park.
"Dan McCann will be pushing for a first grade spot and Lachie would go a long way to replacing a player like K J Wood, he runs good lines and he's a hard hitter," he said.
"It also gives good opportunity for the younger guys in the 18s last year.
"Were pretty confident of getting a good footy team together."
The Cowra Magpies will begin their season in just under four months time against Lithgow Workies away from home, round two will see the Magpies first match at Sid Kallas oval against the Bathurst Panthers.
"It's pretty much the same draw," Sutton said.
"We got three weeks without footy though, with the bye before the general bye, but other then that there is nothing that is really going to effect us."
The Cowra Magpies first training run went ahead last night with all four grades in attendance.
The Valley Hotel Motel have joined the Cowra Magpies as the major sponsors for next year's season.
