The Christmas and community spirits were running high in Greenethorpe on Friday the 12th of December when the Greenethorpe School P & C ran a Xmas themed cake decorating competition and auction.
Community members gathered at the Shamrock Hotel for a sugar filled night of fun and festive season silliness.
Many creative cakes were delivered on the night and later auctioned as a fundraiser for the Greenethorpe P & C.Clever interpretations of the christmas themed include a novel gingerbread house (as pictured) which consisted of a house with walls made of toasted bread shelting a piece of actual ginger.
Other spectacular cakes include a santa stuck in a chimmney, an explosion of reindeers and a very special red velvet bauble which sold at auction for an astounding $300!
The kids got involved too at the cup cake decorating station with last minute entries to the competition.
The Greenethorpe P & C would like to express their gratitude and many thanks to all of the staff and patrons of the Shamrock Hotel for their generosity in hosting the event and for supporting the Greenethorpe P & C weekly raffle every friday through out the year.
Merry Christmas to all!
