Cowra Tourism Manager Arabella Fingleton said retailers reported a cracker night in sales which continued over their weekend trading.
Taking home the Christmas Cracker Giveaway and $10,000 worth of prizes was Carly Mcintyre.
"The exposure the Christmas Night Market gives Cowra is invaluable. It encourages repeat visits not just once a year but throughout the entire year and creates the habit of travelling to Cowra to spend.
"Cowra Tourism aims to have that flow through to the local attractions and accommodation providers.
"In the future I'd like to see busloads arriving for the market just as they do in Millthorpe."
Cowra Business Chamber president Ben Casey said some of their members enjoyed their biggest trading day of the year at the markets.
He said while there were a few "hiccups", they aim to have them ironed out by next year.
"That is a great news for our retailers in what is generally a tight retail environment," Mr Casey said.
"Overall the Night Markets were a fantastic success."
Launched at the markets was the Cowra Cash gift card, available for use only at participating places across Cowra in order to help keep money in the region.
Mr Casey said the response to the card so far has been excellent.
"I expect that it will take some time before everyone in town hears about and starts to use the Cowra Cash gift cards, but we are very happy with the initial response and are looking forward to spreading the word and retaining further consumer dollars in Cowra," Mr Casey said.
He thanked the staff of Cowra Tourism and Cowra Council for their hard work in bringing the markets to life and said they "deserve the praise coming their way"
"It is definitely very satisfying to see the staff of both these organisations going the extra mile to ensure that the Night Markets was a success for all involved," Mr Casey said.
Ms Fingleton had plenty of thank yous too.
"This event could not have come together without the support and hard work of Caddie Marshall and Fiona Jennings of Cowra Tourism and Ben Casey, President of Cowra Business Chamber. Cowra Shire Council's Chris Cannard always makes the street closure run smoothly and safely with his crew and we can't forget Lawrance Ryan and Marc McLeish who did a fantastic job running the entertainment," she said.
