Every team will have played each other and had the bye. Currently Canowindra, who will have the no-points bye this weekend, sit on top of the hotly contested ladder where they will be joined by either the Young Criterion Coyotes or the Young Services Blues.
Both Young teams grabbed six points on Saturday and will be chasing back-to-back wins when the competitions first Young derby is played at Gus Smith Oval tomorrow.
Valleys will host Grenfell in a match that Grenfell really can't afford to lose.
After forfeiting any chance of points last weekend, and scheduled for the bye again next week, the boys from Grenfell need six points to keep them in the chase.
Valleys will have other plans, a win for the green and golds will see them remarkably up in minor-premiership contention and with the Christmas break just around the corner it is a handy place to be.
Bowling Club and Morongla are also faced with similars outcomes with both teams caught in the middle of the ladder.
Round 6 results:
Canowindra pulled off a miraculous win at home to confirm their spot at the summit of the table.
After Canowindra posted 240 on the back of Ben Schaefer's 83 Morongla were looking likely to chase down the mammoth total when they were 4-207.
However the loss of six wickets in the space of 23 runs left Morongla with one point while Canowindra collected the six.
Ben Schaefer, Nick Traves and leg-spinner Gurpreet Singh all bagged three wickets for the winning team.
Bowling Club found it hard to compete with their top players unavailable again.
The Blues gladly took advantage however rolling Bowly for 80. Josh Platt, N Slater and Ethan Silk all picking up two wickets.
The Young team then chased down the below par score with the loss of three wickets.
Skipper Brendan Crouse (34) lead the way.
Unfortunately in the other match Grenfell forfeited with six points going the way of the Criterion Hotel Coyotes.
Top scorers:
Sam McNaught (84, Morongla)
Ben Schaefer (83, Canowindra)
Conor Crook (76, Morongla).
Top wicket-takers:
Graham Watt (3-19, Morongla)
Jarrod Proctor (3-20, Morongla)
Nick Traves (3-40, Canowindra)
Top performer:
Ben Schaefer (83, 3-47; Canowindra)
Round 7 preview:
The local derby between the two Young teams headline round seven and with both teams sitting on 20 points one is destined to join Canowindra at the top of the table.
Both teams are coming off wins although the Coyotes did earn their six points by default with Grenfell forfeiting last weekend.
The Blues will be hard to contain with momentum behind them after their big win over Bowling Club.
Like any derby though it could throw up anything.
Bowling Club will be boosted with the return of Mick Curtale from representative commitments last weekend.
They have yet to perform to their potential as a team therefore this weekend is a danger match for for their opponents Morongla.
Morongla however welcome back Jacob McNaught from representative commitments and they will be up for a tough match after last weekends heartbreaking four run loss.
Both teams need a win, runs on the board will be important.
In the final match Valleys host Grenfell.
This game could produce anything.
Both teams have shown they are capable of top performances but inconsistency seems to be there downfall.
Should they field their best teams it'll be a great match.
Valleys are chasing points to keep in the hunt after a slow start while Grenfell really need another win to get back on track.
