Organiser of the Busking Championships, Allan Spencer, said this year's event was the best yet.
"By far it's the best one we've had. It was a huge success and everyone had a great day," Mr Spencer said.
"The town was very busy as people made their way around the CBD checking out all the acts. There were plenty of smiles on people's faces."
Singer-guitarist Guyy Lilleyman defended his title to be crowned the Open Champion for the second year running. He won a cash prize of $2,000.
Saturday's extravaganza showcased the very best in local and state talent as buskers from all walks of life put together their best performances, much to the delight of the crowd.
"Everyone said it was a great success. There were lots of different ages with buskers coming from all over to perform," Mr Spencer said.
"The word is getting out there to many more musicians and we continue to draw more people in year after year. They'll tell their friends who will come."
The secondary section was hotly contested with second prize went to another singer-guitarist, Lucy Sugerman. Lucy is from Canberra and she also received $300. The third prize of $200 went to the three-piece group Raising Cain, a group consisting of Sarah Nicholson, Rory Maclean and Ehlana Wright.
