Parents, students, business groups, and local employers, are all urged to attend the meeting where Amanda Spalding from TAFE Western will explain fundamental changes to the program from next year.
“If you have anything to do with a VET program then I urge you to come to this event,” Cowra Council’s Business Development Officer, Ponie De Wet said.
Reforms to VET funding are being enacted under the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled initiative through NSW State Training Services.
“Smart and Skilled is being implemented statewide from January 1, 2015,” Mr De Wet said.
Director of Corporate Services at TAFE Western, Amanda Spalding, will explain how these changes will impact upon students, businesses, Cowra TAFE, and school-leavers.
Reforms to VET will see eligible individuals able to choose Government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III from TAFE or an approved private or Community training provider.
The free seminar will be at Cowra Council Chambers in Kendal St on Monday, November 3 from 5pm with light refreshments provided.
