That's why a group of tradesmen is re-forming the Cowra Building and Construction Group after five years in limbo.
Spokesman John Langlands said the lobby group plans to work with local and state governments to shape reform and regulation in the industry.
They're also hoping to promote the quality of Cowra's building industry while keeping members up-to-date with regulatory changes.
The group is now recruiting and is using Facebook to connect with the local industry and potential clients.
"We want to promote the local building industry, including the builders, suppliers and auxiliary trades," Mr Langlands said.
"The building industry is the largest secondary industry in Cowra [and] Cowra on the whole has got an extremely good building industry, very professional and very well trained."
The group is planning to create an online directory of Cowra tradesmen in order to promote services regionally.
They're also trying to revive the popular home and leisure show at the Cowra Showground pavilion where tradies can show off their skills for the public to enjoy.
"It's been really successful in the past, we had one every 18 months and that's what we'd like to do again," Mr Langlands said.
