Police were warned not to engage the bronze Nissan X-Trail, clocked at speeds of 200 kilometres per hour, as it travelled on the Mid Western Highway between Cowra and Blayney on Wednesday afternoon.
Occupied by two men and a woman, the car is believed to have stopped for fuel in Cowra after leaving a trial of fail-to-pays in its wake.
A police helicopter was called in after the car was spotted on Liverpool Street heading towards the highway shortly after 4pm.
The pursuit began in Victoria on Wednesday morning.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
