Following the defeat to Orange last weekend, Kershaw has made one selection change with young batsmen John Clarke coming into the fray at the expense of Canowindra spinner Gurpreet Singh.

Despite Cowra going for over 500 runs in their previous two matches Kershaw says batting is what will win the game on Sunday.

"We've gone with another batter, I don't want to go in with two spinners at Holman so Singhy (Gurpreet Singh) had to go and Cam (Edgar) has kept his spot.

"We need to form partnerships, we saw at Dubbo when our openers set the platform, even though it didn't eventuate it put us in a position to win the game.

"I think the team we've gone with, whether were posting a total or chasing one we have the batsmen to do it," Kershaw said.

On both outings this season Cowra have lost the toss, something Kershaw admitted has not done his team any favours.

"I don't like to say that the toss can win or lose you a game, but they haven't gone our way and on those decks which haven't favoured the new ball bowlers it hasn't helped us.

"Things haven't happened the way they should."

This weekend however, Cowra has an opportunity on their home pitch to beat a Parkes team that lost by 70-runs last Sunday to Dubbo. Kershaw says Cowra's seamers will be tough to handle and Parkes wont hold any surprises.

"Holman is more of a seamers deck and blokes like Hendo (David Henderson) and Brendan Traves will become a lot more valuable on Sunday, also Jacob (McNaught) will be much tougher on his home deck against Parkes' top order.

"They're predictable like Dubbo, (Anthony) Heraghty will come out hard while (Peter) Yelland will form partnerships to ensure they don't expose their middle order to the new ball."

The winner of this match will go through to the WPL semi finals against Mitchell Zones representatives.
