The local boys will head to Wade Park where they will meet Orange in the second round of the state wide knock-out competition in attempt to book a date with Dubbo on November 23.
Sunday will see Morongla's Cam Edgar back into the twelve; the only change in the team that traveled to Dubbo last weekend with coach Rod Kershaw yet to make a decision on who will be left out.
Edgar returns to the team having scored 78 runs from two knocks in the SportsPower Cup and is likely to play a key role in Cowra's middle order. He's off-spin has also claimed four wickets giving Curtale another option in the spin department along with Canowindra's Gurpreet Singh.
"He bowls a few handy offy's and he scored a 60 the other day," Cowra captain Mick Curtale said.
"He can hold together our middle order or score quick runs, he's a good addition."
Having won the SCG Country Cup in 2011/12 and making it to the final four last year with ACT club side Queanbeyan, Curtale is adamant that this is the tournament he'd like to see Cowra achieve most in.
"This is the big one for us," he said.
"I wasn't here last year, the boys went good in the Shield making it to the final, but we're back in the Cup and we got a point a prove.
"We're always confident, as long as we focus on completing our jobs and don't make to many mistakes I think we'll go a long way."
Similar to Cowra, Orange suffered convincing losses last weekend in their opening matches of the President's Cup, losing to both Blue Mountains and Bathurst by more then 50 runs.
Curtale said that's in the past admitting there's a lot more on the line this Sunday.
"Im not worried about that, we got a bit of a touch up so I'm not reading into it."
"We just gotta concentrate on this Sunday so we can get another crack at Dubbo in a couple of weeks time."
Due to low numbers competing in the Cup from the Western Zone Cowra and Orange are playing-off for a regional semi-final berth against Dubbo who have a free ride into the third round along with Parkes and Bathurst.
The winner of the Western Zone qualifiers will be among the top eight sides in the state for the playoffs scheduled to be in the Illawarra region between Christmas and New Year with the final set to be played on January 11 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Curtale added; "It'd obviously be a massive achievement to take these boys on that journey but we got a job to do this weekend."
