After being approached by Kim Withers with the idea, the group picked up the needles and began creating the knitted log, soon followed by wildlife and forest greenery.
Jenny Friend of Cowra Special Needs and Social Support said the project was enjoyed by everyone involved.
"We were able to use up all our little bits of wool that have been donated and it just kept on growing," she said.
"We meet every week and do lots of neighbourhood projects; we've made toys, beanies, slippers and donated goods to the Bathurst Women and Children Refuge."
Cowra Librarian, Caroline Eisenhauer said the Reading Log will be a great addition to Storytime.
"I just want to extend a big thankyou on behalf of the community and the children," she said.
"The children will be able to talk about it, write about it and it will be a great tool for their imagination. "It will really encourage them to read, create and imagine."
