I was very upset by the letter sent to you on 17 September criticising the Craft display at the Cowra Show.
Firstly I would like to thank all those volunteers who happily gave of their time to help set up the display. Many of them were assisting for the first time and did their best under the difficult circumstances of climbing ladders and lifting heavy items.
Quilts and large shawls are very hard to display and if stay folded on the tables cannot be seen very well at all.
The method of hanging them through hoops (not nails or hooks) was trialled over the last couple of years and found to be the best and fairest method for such large items.
I think it is wonderful that so many people exhibit beautiful needlework and craft in our Cowra Show and hope they are not discouraged by the opinion of one visitor to the show.
