Teacher, Paul Lewis, organised the program which has been running at the school for over 15 years.
"We do this program for the year four students because it is a time when children really enjoy riding bikes.
"It is also the time when they are able to understand more about road rules.
"We teach the students about scanning ahead when they are riding their bikes, and we also teach them what to do at traffic lights, and how to have bike confidence," Mr Lewis said.
Senior Constable Janine Robinson and Senior Constable Tim Waite of Cowra PCYC attended the day, bringing with them portable traffic lights for the students to practice on.
"From ten years of age children start to ride on roads, so it is important they know what to do at traffic lights," Mr Lewis said.
Students are told about bike maintenance prior to the day, they are told to check tyre tread, that their handle bars and seats are secure and that their brakes are functional.
"Most of the bikes have been in pretty good condition this year," Mr Lewis said.
The PCYC police officers ensured the student's helmets were on properly, and that they understood the rules surrounding traffic lights.
