Please think about this seriously and, if you feel you have something to offer in regards to how the club is being run, then put your name forward for consideration.
Nominations are also being taken for deputy chairman and two directors for the Club Ltd.
Nomination forms are available from the bowls office or the front office and nominations will close at 4.00pm this Friday August 22.
Zone 5 12-a-Side Championship
The annual Zone 5 12-a-Side Championship was held at Penrith BC last weekend.
Three of the five rounds were played on Saturday but Sunday was rained out and as a result Nepean District was declared the winner with two side wins plus 18 shots.
Lachlan Valley played a draw against Western Districts, went down by three shots to Blue Mountains and then had a 21 shot win over the previously undefeated Central Tablelands - a pity we couldn't have played Nepean on Sunday morning.
This event was also a selection trial to pick the Zone side to contest the State Inter-Zone Sides Championship to be held in Dubbo from 13 to 15 September.
Lachlan Valley has four of the 16 bowlers selected in the Zone side - Steve Galvin, Gerard Beath, Charlie Bryant and Graham Amery - congratulations and good luck in Dubbo.
The full side is Charlie Bryant (Cowra), Chris O'Neill (Gulgong), Graham Amery (Cowra) and Gerard Beath (Cowra); Craig Townsend (Majellan), John Bugden (Camden), Steve Galvin (Grenfell) and Dave Walter (Mudgee); Gerard Short (Austral), Mick Anderson (Austral), Lee Stinson (Orange City) and Trent Whittingham (Penrith); Terry Reid (Lawson), Steve Shannon (Molong), Jeff Madden (Lithgow City) and Bob Hamilton (Orange City).
The reserves are John Mobbs (Gulgong), Matt Slager (Blacktown City), Mick Armstrong (Bowral) and Trevor Costa (Wallacia).
Listed Matches
Due to Zone and other commitments the quarter-finals of the handicap pairs are not listed to be played until August 30.
