Ms Moerkerken's property on the backwaters of Wyangala Dam had become a halfway house of sorts for some mooching cattle, found scattered on the road.
After the Cowra Guardian helped amplify Ms Moerkerken's social media callout to find the owners, we were contacted by a reader from Lake Como in Italy who recognised the description of the brand.
She informed us that the cows were either Black Simmentals or Simmental cross Angus and gave us a name, which lead Ms Moerkerken to find the owner.
"[The] owner lives in Sydney and had them agistment on a property about eight kilometres from here," Ms Moerkerken said.
"The owner told me that they are stud cattle the bull alone is worth $20,000 so he was very happy to find them safe and sound."
