Lovett dominated Daniel Allotey (15-5) from the opening bell of the scheduled six round contest in San Antonio, Texas with the referee calling a halt in the second round.
With Allotey looking a little out of condition at the weigh-in, Lovett took to the body with great effect landing some serious blows from the outset.
Although rocked, the experienced Allotey took the punishment until he dropped to the canvas from a serious body shot just before the end of the first round and received the count.
Allotey stumbled to his feet and survived to the end of the first round, but in the second round Lovett stepped up the attack ripping into the body once again.
When his opponent dropped his hands to cover the brutal body shots, Lovett finished it with an overhand right that sent Allotey hanging through the ropes.
The referee had no hesitation waving off the bout and declaring Lovett the winner by TKO.
It takes Lovett's record to nine wins, with seven knockouts.
