Cowra Motorcycle Racing Club will host the Australian Junior Dirt Track titles at Woodstock Park Speedway on Saturday and Sunday.
It is a coup for the small, but highly successful, club which has many benefits for Cowra and the local riders according to race secretary Kym Dawes.
"We put in a submission to Motorcycling Australia describing the track and facilities, for example, and we were selected," she said.
"This is the first time we have hosted the Australian Junior Dirt Track titles. We have hosted Australian Junior Longtracks before so it is a real vote of confidence for the committee and members.
"It is a bit more of a technical track for the riders and it is good for the Cowra boys to race on their home track.
"We have five club days a year, so they're pretty accustomed to the track and the conditions - they know how to ride the track. But, in saying that, if there is some rain the track conditions change quickly and it's like everybody else, you've just got to go out there and ride it."
Although the weekend fields contain many accomplished riders, the 11 Cowra competitors contesting their respective divisions will be well in the mix.
"A couple of the boys are actually defending their Australian titles," Ms Dawes said.
"We have a very good chance of crowning one of our own as the title holder - we have a great little club and some terrific riders who are state and national title holders, so the chances of keeping the title in Cowra are really good and looking really promising.
"We have a great roll-up of riders coming from all over Australia and the calibre of rider is top quality. We have 118 riders, but some of them are riding three bikes across 115 events over the two days. There are state and national title holders from other states that will be here as well."
With 33 sponsors on board, Ms Dawes said the Cowra community has been "extremely supportive".
Gates open at 7am on Saturday and Sunday morning with racing set to start at 10am both days.
The Easter bunny will also be making an appearance on Sunday.
"If you haven't been out to Woodstock Park and seen the kids ride at that speed, it is certainly exhilarating to watch," Ms Dawes said.
"We're looking forward to a good weekend."
