This Wednesday the Ladies played the first round of the Whiteley Singles as a trial to see whether the competition would be more acceptable if the first round was played on a Wednesday.

All subsequent rounds will be played by arrangement between the two players. Although there were a couple of forfeits due to unavoidable circumstances, the general opinion from those who entered was quite positive.
The next round will have Jenny Dresser playing Annette Sutherland, Sue Smith with Cookie Dolbel, Trish Moerkerken up against Jenny Armstrong and Carol Webb against Cheryl McKeown.
These games are to be played by May 31 which should give them all plenty of time to organise themselves.
For all those who were unable to play in the Whiteley Singles there was an eighteen hole stableford event with Sylvia McCormack scoring 30 points to win from Carol Webb on 29. Carol was the only one to win a Nearest-the-Pin and that was on the Fagan 5th Green. The one ball up for grabs on Wednesday went to Sylvia.
Next week will be an 18 Hole Stroke event which is the 2nd H&V and an Oliver Pointscore fixture. Cowra Phototronics are the generous trophy donors. Cards are to be done by Julie Spolding and Helen Butler with the Raffle organised by Dawn Boardman.
Good Luck to everyone playing in this weekend's Easter Classic. It promises to be a perfect golf weather weekend so we expect some very good scores with the course looking in picture perfect condition.
Tournament notices from around the state include Caragabal on April 27, Forbes on May 5, Gulgong also on May 5, Coonamble on May 25 and Bowral on May 29 with entries closing on May 21.
