The team from Cowra Motors were on hand to assist with test drives and other enquiries about the new Subaru range and were good enough to put on a couple of extra prizes for the golfers.
The winning team of Jim McNaught, John and Nick Bischof and Kak Smith obviously enjoyed the perfect weather and course conditions, finishing up with a great score of 53 5/6.
The unlucky runners-up, finishing just one third of a shot shy of the winners were Darrel Colemane, Steve Thomas, Clayton Treasure and Warren MacKenzie.
The longest drive on the 18th was won by Matt Pullen.
The sponsorship and effort put in by Cowra Motors was greatly appreciated by all the golfers, many of whom enjoyed an exciting test drive in the new WRX.
Cowra Motors Subaru NTP winners were: Rod McCormick (5th) Greg Currie (7th) and the Cowra Subway Eat Fresh NTP winners were: Dennis Howard (14th) and Allan Jewell (16th.)
Balls were won by: J.McNaught, J.Bischof, N.Bischof, A.Smith, D.Colemane, S.Thomas, C.Treasure, D.Withers, W.Rodwell, S.Myers, G.Bowen, C.Brown, S.Williams, C.Pierce and L.Chew.
Friday Night Bistro
Julie Smith's Cowra Golf Club Bistro is open Fridays from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm.
Julie's popular buffet meals cost just $12.50 and a Blackboard Menu features various specials for only $16.
All are invited to take advantage of the beautiful meals, while supporting one of Cowra's great assets, in the best, most family-friendly atmosphere in town.
Along with the great food, the Cowra Golf Club's Kid's Room and playground make the night easy and enjoyable for all.
Veterans Golf
Yet another wet Thursday reduced the Vets field last week with only 5 braving the conditions.
The lucky two chook/voucher winners were Ron Newham and Len Ryan.
Junior Golf
Due to the Cowra Easter Classic, Steve Cains' Sunday Junior Golf will NOT be on this Sunday and will resume next Sunday April 27.
Tuesday Chook Run
The Chook Run continues each Tuesday.
It is a roll-up start, 9 hole comp conducted in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The chook/voucher winners for April 15 were: N.Keay, N.McKnight, R.Salisbury, R.Houghton and K.Harper.
Sunday 11-hole Social Competition
At just $13 per player, the Sunday 11 hole competition is still the cheapest, easiest and best way to get into golf.
It is called a "competition," but you don't need to be good at golf, generous handicaps are applied, and you don't need to be a member of the club.
Please contact the Golf Shop on 6342 1211 for any further information.
Please note that due to the Cowra Easter Classic, the Sunday 11 hole comp will NOT be on this Sunday April 20.
Results for Sunday April 13: Winner; Mick Camps (25 pts c/b) Runner-up; Jim Brown (25 pts.)
World Golf
The US Masters has been run and won for another year, ending with quite an anticlimax for Aussie golf fans compared with last year's tournament.
American Bubba Watson proved that his first Masters win two years ago wasn't a flash-in-the-pan fluke, by comfortably winning his second green jacket by three shots.
The Australian contingent still made their presence felt with John Senden, Adam Scott and Jason Day all finishing in the top 20.
Dress Regulations
All golfers are reminded that t-shirts without collars, tracksuit pants, dirty work clothes/boots, footy clothing etc. are NOT acceptable on the Cowra Golf Course at ANY time, whether it be for competition play, social golf, or just a bit of practice.
Upcoming Events
This Friday, Saturday and Sunday is the 37th instalment of the Cowra Easter Classic thanks to Major Sponsor Leigh Browne Builder, also Martin's Bi-Rite Electrical, Lachlan Fertilizers Rural and the Cowra Services Club.
Easter Raffle tickets will be on sale until Sunday afternoon.
Then next Saturday April 26 will be the Fox Roots Memorial Day sponsored by Lloyd Roots.
The day will be a fourball best-ball stableford and will serve as the club's qualifying round for the NSW Club Fourball event.
