The family, who moved from Sydney, now has a one and a half acre large property in Cowra’s south, large enough to keep pet ducklings, chickens and a dog, while paying a relatively small mortgage.
Ms Paki said she enjoys the slower pace of life in the country and said there is less financial pressure.
“When we came to visit [Cowra first] we felt the weight off our shoulders.We knew life would be easier living in Cowra ‘cause of the finances,” she said.
“We felt we’d be crazy not to move in and rent our Sydney property.”
She said without traffic in Cowra time is not wasted travelling to and from work, leaving more time to renovate the home and giving Tani time to study.
“When we came we fell in love with the surroundings and everything Cowra has to offer.”
