The Cowra Magpies suffered their first loss at home this season when they went down 26-18 to the Oberon Tigers at Sid Kallas Oval on Sunday.
The Magpies had their chance to win the match after leading 18-12 at one stage but errors proved costly for the home side allowing the visitors to seal the win with a Kirk Roberts try with 36 seconds left on the clock.
Cowra weren’t helped by a penalty count that saw them receive just two penalties. Field position also went against the Magpies who handed Oberon cheap possession on too many occasions after handling errors in the slippery conditions.
Oberon 26: Adam Powell, Zac Rowlindson, Blake Fitzpatrick, Ricky Arriola, Kirk Roberts tries, Blake Fitzpatrick 2 goals, Adam Powell 1 goal.
Cowra 18: Dean Murray, Brendan Tidswell, Carl Planika tries, Caley Mok 3 goals.
