Chance for students to xsel at school

Applications for a virtual selective xsel program for gifted and talented secondary students in Cowra open on Friday, June 21.

The xsel program enables academically gifted and talented students to be motivated and academically stimulated wherever they live in the western region while retaining the benefit of living with family and friends and contributing their community, according to Western NSW Regional Director, Carole McDiarmid.

Students at Cowra High School have the opportunity to undertake selective school level targeted specialist programs in Maths, Science and English taught by dedicated teachers.

Now in its third year, xsel is accepting applications from any student seeking to part of the internationally-recognised initiative until July 27.

Applications go directly to xsel - www.xsel.schools.nsw.edu.au - with the fourth Year 7 intake for students entering in 2013 part of the state selective schools process.
