Ms Parrish addressed the ladies at the Cowra Services Club Friday August 9, with a 114-strong crowd of Ladies Probus members and non-members attending.
She showed her immunity pin, a memento from Masterchef, and told ladies that the call she received from the television series asking her to join it changed her life.
Ladies Probus member Fay Wright said Ms Parrish, a Cudal resident, was easy going and down to earth.
“You could a hear pin drop while she was talking, everyone was so interested,” she said.
Ms Wright and fellow Ladies Probus member Fay Baxter took Ms Parrish to the Breakout Brasserie, which baked a peach blossom cake based on a recipe in her cookbook, ‘Merle’s Kitchen’.
On Masterchef she won the show’s judges’ admiration for her technique and near-perfect cakes, and she has competed from the age of seven in state cookery competitions.
