It's about time that I put something back into the town through council.
I have been trying for years through different organisations with which I have been involved.
I've got the experience of life. I've lived here all my life.
I basically think I'm ready to do something through council.
What do you see as the big issues in Cowra?
The two big issues are the idea of a heavy vehicle alternate route or bypass, and the beautification, for want of a better word, of the main street.
But we are [also] not doing a lot of the small things.
There are a lot of things that can be immediately done by council; one of my pet projects is the idea of putting a defibrillator at the swimming pool.
We don't have to only have all these big things like the bypass that can take 20 years.
Why not try some of the little things that can be done in a matter of months?
What experience do you bring to the table?
I opened my first business in town in 1985 once we left the farm, where I had been since I left school.
I've been a member of so many organisations in town and district that
I probably couldn't' remember them all, let alone count them.
I'm still a member of such groups as the Cowra Business Chamber, the Cowra-Italy Friendship Association.
They're just two; one being for business and the other being very much the cultural side of the town.
I bring experience in not only business, but being a member of the Cowra community.
Why should people vote for you?
I was thinking of saying just because I'm a nice fellow, but seriously it's because I have the experience.
Councillors to me seem to do their best when they have years of experience in business, but they're not quite finished there yet.
I am at that position in my life.
I've never been on council before so I'm going to bring some different kind of ideas.
