I've been a lifelong resident of Cowra. I'm a ratepayer.
I'm in business here in Cowra. I feel there have been many issues I would like to have an input into
I'm also very interested in the growth and future direction Cowra might need to take.
I feel at the moment we're losing our population to the mining industry and the bigger centres.
What do you see as the big issues in Cowra?
The main topic at the moment around town is the traffic congestion in the main street and the design of the main street has been brought up by council.
Our main street, being a public thoroughfare for all traffic, has to bare the brunt of heavy vehicles.
I feel that heavy vehicles have to be rerouted, or an alternative route has to be found.
This is a very long term and a very costly exercise, but I feel that until we do that we won't make any progress as far as providing a better car and traffic situation in our main street.
What experience do you bring to the table?
I'm a lifelong resident of the district.
I was a farmer for many years, changed direction, moved into Cowra and began a career in real estate.
I do have a very, very good understanding of our property industry, both rural and town.
I'm deeply involved in the sale of lifestyle blocks and hobby farms to city residents wanting to move to our district.
It's been one of my concerns for a very long time that those people are having difficulty through the adopted LEP.
The 100 hectare minimum building entitlement area is totally unsuitable and will disadvantage many land holders.
The new LEP has a built in development slowdown.
Why should people vote for you?
My experience around town as a farmer, as a resident, as a developer, as a real estate agent.
I can offer voters a strong voice on council.
And I feel that I've got a good general understanding of the needs of our shire.
I do have a desire to progress the shire and see us go on to bigger and better things.
