Central West Libraries is one of only eight library services, and the only one in regional NSW, that has been awarded an Australian Library and Information Association Learning Australia grant to present Community Internet Training Workshops.
Cowra will host one of the workshops on Tuesday, December 8 from 8 30am to 11am.
“The workshops will cover an introduction to the internet, using Internet Explorer, searching tips, using favourites, toolbars and links, protecting your information online, using email and email attachments, an overview of social networking including Facebook and Twitter as well as online Library Services.” Central West Libraries Technical Services Librarian, Ros Dorsman, said.
The Central West Libraries Service is hoping that people involved with a community group or organisation will participate in the daytime workshops, and then pass on the information they learn about internet resources to the rest of their community.
“We are looking for people already involved with community groups and organisations.
“People who want to improve their understanding of the Internet who would then be able to pass on their knowledge through their community connections,” Ross said.
If you would like to participate in the workshops, book your place by calling Central West Libraries on 63938120.
