Cuddles from my kids, tea with the girls, the eyes of my husband, seeing somewhere new, creating something new, and …..writing.
These are Tania McCartney’s greatest joys, and this is exactly the sort of person Kylie Wood was hoping for when looking for a special guest for the International Women’s Day event, set for Cowra on Sunday March 13.
Tania is an Australian author, editor, publisher, blogger and magazine writer.
She is the author of the Riley travelogue series of picture books and has also published adult non fiction.
“This is an author who is sure to appeal to a wide range of people in the community,” Kylie said.
“The Riley series is so much fun for the kids.
“Beijing Tai Tai is a book that many mothers could relate to, and Handmade Living is truly an attack on the senses.
“We are really lucky to have such a vibrant and interesting woman be part of this event.”
In the Riley series McCartney introduces readers to the intrepid adventurer Riley, accompanied by his toy panda.
They explore some of the most beautiful cities in the world, in these delightful adventure stories.
Beijing Tai Tai, is a collection of witty observations on Beijing expat life, written first hand by Tania. Intensely personal, at times a little controversial, this is a rollercoaster ride of honesty and openness as a mother and wife juggling suburban life in urban Beijing.
Handmade Living is a beautifully illustrated book showcasing the work of talented designers, artisians and
craftspeople from around the country. This includes a collection of over 70 handmade projects and inspirational ideas.
During the Cowra event, Tania will be talking about how vital it is that women have the courage to follow their dreams and do what they love.
Whilst visiting our region, Tania is also visiting some of the local schools to do book readings. This is such a fantastic opportunity for our local children.
Handmade Living will be available for purchase at Souk both before and after the event.
