Council disappointed with weeds funding

10 Feb, 2012 11:43 AM
Cowra Shire Council is disappointed there has been no increase in funding for the Lachlan Valley Weeds Action Program.

The state government announced $8 million in funding for weed management with Cowra Shire allocated $305, 559 for the action program, the same amount as the last round of funding.

“The amount received by the Lachlan Valley Weeds Advisory Committee for 2011-2012 is the same as the last round of funding. While any funding for weed control is welcome, it’s disappointing there has been no increase,” said Mayor of Cowra, Cr Bill West.
